Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or other direct message long enough to handle it and maintain the related correspondence. It is not disclosed outside the organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems may receive basic technical details when a page loads:
- The date and time of each request
- The referring page, when one is supplied
- Visited pages and approximate time spent
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files that help measure traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers may combine visit data into reports. A browser can block or clear cookies, though doing so may change how some features work.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Marquette County Criminal History does not create, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general access information for the sheriff, trial courts, Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center, and Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a report about another person. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search tools. Their own privacy terms govern information entered there, including how long they keep it and when they share it. Read the provider's policy before submitting a query because this policy does not control that processing.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Marquette County offices, Michigan agencies, courts, legal resources, or private search services. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not control that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
- Advertising networks that place ads
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers that process a query submitted to their tool
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for collected data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so a breach or unauthorized access can never be ruled out completely.

This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, it will be removed.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Michigan law, including the Michigan Consumer Protection Act, MCL 445.901 through 445.922, may provide added rights depending on the facts. Subject to legal limits, a visitor may:
